“Growing up in Maine, I learned to fly fish on annual fishing trips where my dad taught me the basics about fly fishing with my beginner LLBean fly rod that I used for years. After years of only sporadic fishing, I moved to central Washington with a river only a few minutes away and picked up more regular fishing trips. I borrowed a friend’s higher end fly rod to see how it casted and was immediately hooked into researching a new fly rod for myself. This research opened up a whole new world of seeing all the options for different fly rods and styles at various prices and qualities.

Fast forward to today and fishing is now a bit of an obsession. I love the ability to customize a fly rod to get the quality and functionality along with a custom look of a hand crafted product. With a few too many fly rods of my own, the creation of Redband Fly Rods I get to continue crafting fly rods for others to enjoy. While we do offer a variety of handcrafted, pre-built fly rods to get customers on the river quicker, I also enjoy working with individuals on a custom designed & built fly rod for their next adventure.

WIth a multitude of build options out there, we stand by any build we would offer a customer. One of our favorite builds is our fly rods built from premium CTS blanks. With their overall performance and aesthetics, the make a fly rod with great line control and overall lightweight feel, that is a joy to cast and catch fish with.  

All fly rods are built in Bend, Oregon by hand using high quality component parts. “
