The Hood vs The Expedition Hood

The Hood and Expedition Hood are the same size and have the same fit. The differences are in the thickness and layers of the balaclava.

The Hood Balaclava has a single Layer Head and Neck, with a dual layer face hinge. The Hood construction provides additional warmth and protection where you need it while allowing for great heat management. The Hood is ideal for all around use and best for cool to cold temperatures.

The Expedition Hood has dual layer all over (Head, Neck & Face Hinge) for added warmth and protection from the elements. The Expedition Hood is great for freezing temperatures and storm conditions.

Both balaclavas do meet CDC and Ski Resort requirements for non-medical facemask use.

Machine Wash in cold water, gentle cycle, and with similar colors. NO BLEACH. Tumble dry low or Hang dry.

Warranty

BlackStrap warrants that this product, when it is purchased from an authorized BlackStrap dealer by a retail customer, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase by the original retail customer. This warranty is solely for the benefit of the original retail purchaser and may not be assigned.

For retail customer Limited Warranty claims, proof of purchase from an authorized bsbrand dealer is required. If the date of purchase cannot be established, bsbrand will make a determination based upon the last production year of the particular model.

If you have any questions about the BlackStrap Limited Warranty or procedures for making claims thereunder, please contact BlackStrap at support@bsbrand.com. The BlackStrap Warranty Center will determine if a product is covered under this Limited Warranty and answer all questions within 48 hours. If covered, BlackStrap has the sole option repair or replace the product in question.

Products purchased from Authorized Dealers (online or in-store) must be returned to that dealer for return or exchange. BlackStrap does not accept returns directly from consumers. Retailers must call for a Return Authorization Number before returning any product under this Limited Warranty. All authorized returns must be sent to the BlackStrap Warranty Center at the country’s main distribution warranty office, freight prepaid (by costumer at Retail locations discretion). BlackStrap will pay the freight for the return shipment.

Any repair or replacement of any product under this Limited Warranty is not available for ordinary wear and tear, including scratches or paint chipping, or for any damages caused by misuse, abuse, unauthorized modification or repairs, accident, heat, improper maintenance or care, incorrect setup, use on non-snow objects, any blow or impact with a hard object or any other irresponsible use. Also BlackStrap can not guarantee that the product being submitted for return or repair will be in stock. Therefore it is up to the sole discretion of BlackStrap to issue a product of equal or greater value.

THE FOREGOING LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OF QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE, WRITTEN, ORAL OR IMPLIED AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT SHALL BSBRAND BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, STATUTORY OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE including, without limitation, loss to property other than this product, loss of use of said product, or other property or other economic losses. BlackStrap shall not be liable for contribution or indemnification whatever the cause.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and/or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation and exclusion may not apply to particular retail customers. BlackStrap’s obligations under any warranty shall be limited, to the greatest extent allowed by the law, as provided in this BlackStrap Limited Warranty. The Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights, which vary from one jurisdiction to another.

 


ORDERS & Shipping

Can I change/cancel an order?

Yes, you can make changes or cancel your order at anytime prior to your order being fulfilled and shipped from our warehouse. To make order changes or cancel your order, please email us at support@bsbrand.com ASAP.

If an order is canceled after it has been fulfilled and shipped, a $20 cancellation fee may be deducted from your refund to cover mail carrier fees.

NOTICE: Due to the current high demand, orders will be processed within 1 to 3 business days.

 At BlackStrap Industries, we strive to get your gear to you ASAP so that you can stay warmer and ride longer. We do our best to process and ship SAME DAY for orders received before 9 AM PST. Please keep in mind that order fulfilling gets wild during the holiday season or high sales volume and it could take longer to get your gear out the door. We do not ship orders on the weekend.

All orders placed after 9 AM PST on Fridays WILL NOT ship until the following Monday. If the following Monday is a holiday then the order will not ship until Tuesday. This includes all orders shipped via USPS Priority.

TRACK MY ORDER

Local curbside pick up instructions

We are proud to announce that we are now offering curbside pick up for the Bend, Oregon area. Curbside pick up will be available Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 3 pm. This is how it works.

  1. Place your order and select the LOCAL PICK UP shipping option. A $2.99 service charge is required. A shipping address is still required to complete your order.
  2. Once your order is confirmed, orders are fulfilled in 1 to 5 business days by our fulfillment team.
  3. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive a confirmation email stating your order is ready for pick up.
  4. To pick up your order, please call the phone number located at all of our entries once you have arrived at our facility located at the address below. Please also remain in your vehicle.

Access to other parts of our warehouse including restrooms are restricted and for employee use only.

  1. A picture I.D. and your order number are required to pick up your order.
  2. If your order is not picked up within 5 business days of our fulfilled confirmation email, your order will be automatically shipped.

To ensure the health and safety of our employees, we ask you to practice social distancing, to wear a facemask, and to not pick up your order if you are sick!

If you have selected LOCAL PICK UP but are not located in the Bend, Oregon area, you will be notified and your order will be shipped. Additional shipping charges may apply.

How can I track my order?

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number once your package leaves our warehouse. You can then track your order via your shipping confirmation email, Shop Pay App, or you can track your order here: TRACK MY ORDER

 

My package was marked "delivered", but I haven't received it!

Did you order from bsbrand.com and your package was marked as "delivered", but it wasn't received? We're happy to help!

When the tracking for your package is updated as "delivered" by the postal carrier, it triggers an automatic email from us to let you know about this new status.

Sometimes, a package will be marked as delivered by the shipping carrier prematurely. If you receive the delivery email but have not received your package, here is what we suggest.

DOMESTIC CUSTOMERS:

USPS delivery vehicles use GPS that can automatically update a package as "delivered" prematurely. Please wait another business day, as the package could have been marked as delivered by mistake, and will arrive the following day.

Contact your local USPS post office. Make sure you contact your LOCAL post office, and not the USPS hotline. Your local post office will be able to provide quicker, and better service. Ask who delivered the package, and ask for the details of that day's delivery. USPS is used to these questions, and will generally provide helpful information.

If the package still does not show up, please call USPS to file a claim. BlackStrap Industries cannot reimburse OR re-ship orders that were mis-delivered by the post office or stolen from a property. Thank you for understanding!

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:

Check your door/mailbox for a note from your local post office. If you receive a note, it should provide you with the instructions you need to receive your package.

Contact your local post office and your local customs office. Ask who delivered the package, and ask for the details of that day's delivery. Postal services are used to these questions, and will generally provide helpful information.

Contact us for additional assistance. BlackStrap Industries cannot reimburse OR re-ship orders that were mis-delivered by the post office or stolen from a property. Thank you for understanding!

 

Will I have to pay custom fees and import duties on international orders?

Please be aware that all international orders are shipped delivery duties unpaid (DDU) and that you, the customer, are responsible for any local customs fees, taxes, and/or duties. Any import duties and taxes are charged once the package has reached the destination country and these charges must be paid by the recipient of the package. Unfortunately we have no control over these charges as customs policies vary from country to country. If you have questions related to customs charges you are advised to contact your local customs office.

 

What if my package is returned to sender?

If your package has been returned to sender (BlackStrap Industries), we are unable to reship any returned packages at this time. We may be able to issue a replacement pending inventory availability or provide a refund if inventory is not available. If you think your package has been returned to sender, please contact us at support@bsbrand.com.

 

What if my package is lost or stolen?

Please note that BlackStrap Industries is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. We recommend shipping packages to secure locations that have someone available to receive the package.

If your package is marked as "Delivered" or shows a final scan, we are unable to file lost in transit claims or offer refunds.

If you have not seen an update to your tracking after 20 (U.S. Domestic) or 30 (International) consecutive days, please contact us at support@bsbrand.com as your package may be lost. If the carrier determines the package is lost, we will either provide a replacement order (depending on available inventory) or provide a refund in full. Please note that claims cannot be submitted after 60 days from the original order ship date.

 

What if my item is damaged, defective, or incorrect?

If you have received a damaged/defective or incorrect item, contact us at support@bsbrand.com with photos of the damage/defective or the incorrect item, as well as your order number. You must notify us within 30 days of receipt. We will handle it from there.

 

Returns & exchanges

NOTICE: In response to the COVID-19 situation, all returns will be held in quarantine for up to 5 days before being processed for refunds to help protect the health and safety of our team.

PURCHASE DISCLAIMER: All sales are final on Civil Masks™ due to product assortments and sanitation concerns. We appreciate your understanding.

We aim to supply our customers with the highest quality products and excellent customer service. You may return unworn and unwashed merchandise back to us within 30 days of receipt for a refund. Customer is required to pay for Return Shipping unless you are exempt (received incorrect product, incorrect colorway, missing items, etc.). Refunded items will be charged a restocking fee of 15% of your total order upon receiving the product. Initial shipping charges will not be refunded.

2. Please return your items using a traceable shipping method with a tracking number(e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx)
3. BlackStrap Industries Inc. is not responsible for items lost in transit and only take responsibility for items delivered to our Shipping/ Receiving Department.
4. Returns must be unworn, undamaged, unwashed with original packaging. IF A RETURN IS DEEMED NONRETURNABLE, NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED.
5. Refunds will be issued to your credit card within 4 days of processing your return once the item(s) have been received by BlackStrap Industries.

Exchange Policy: If you need a different size, color or product you may return your unworn item(s) for a full refund and place a new order. SHOPIFY
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment: If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

What does the option pay with installments on Shop Pay mean?

When checking out with Shop Pay, you now have the option to pay now or later. Paying in installments on Shop Pay allows you to split your purchase amount into 4 equal, biweekly installment payments—with 0% interest, no hidden or late fees, and no impact on your credit score.* In some instances, your first payment is due when you make your purchase; otherwise, your first payment is due 2 weeks after your purchase.

My installments payment using Shop Pay was rejected - why?

Eligibility for and approval of Shop Pay Installments is managed by Shop Pay and Affirm. BlackStrap Industries has no control over this process, but you should receive an email from Affirm detailing why your payment was rejected.

 

What happens if I partially or fully cancel my order that was paid in installments?

If we process a refund, the refunded amount will be returned to your original payment method within 3-10 business days, and your balance will be updated.

If your refund is less than your total purchase balance, it might not lower your next payment. Instead, you can expect fewer payments, a smaller final payment, or both.

If your refund is more than your purchase balance, the difference will be returned to your original payment method within 3-10 business days.

 

Are there late fees?

No, there are no late fees if you miss a scheduled payment.
